“We have been operating at maximum capacity for more than ten days,” Hamid Sotoudehfar said.
He added that the petrochemical plant is being fed by Isfahan Oil Refinery.
“Based on new agreements between the two sides, in case of technical problems and enhanced gasoline production at Isfahan refinery, the feedstock supply to Isfahan Petrochemical Plant will be cut to be used at the refinery,” he said.
Sotoudehfar said 37 percent of the feedstock received by this plant is converted into aromatic products like benzene, toluene and paraxylene. The rest is returned to Isfahan refinery to be used in gasoline production units.
The feedstock supplied by Isfahan Refinery had stopped from June 8 and production in this plant has come to a halt.
Isfahan Petrochemical Plant was said to be owing seven trillion rials to Isfahan Refinery.
The plant produces more than 300,000 tons of aromatics a year, including benzene, toluene and paraxylene.
Launched in 1992, Isfahan Petrochemical Company is expected to produce more than 300,000 tons of aromatics.
