Reducing Feedstock Delivery Prohibited

TEHRAN July 24 (Shana)--Iranian minister of petroleum Bijan Namdar Zanganeh issued an order stating oil refineries and petrochemical units are not allowed to reduce the amount of feedstock delivery to downstream sector’s facilities unilaterally.

Zanganeh added refineries and petrochemical plants should continue delivery of feedstock to the sector according to pre-privatization levels unless the downstream sector units state their agreement with taking lower levels of feedstock.
The minister sent the decree to the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NPC) and department of planning and supervision on hydrocarbon resources at Petroleum Ministry for enforcement.
According to Zanganeh, setting the price of feedstock will be subject to bilateral agreements between refineries and petrochemical units on the one hand and downstream sector’s activists on the other.
