Nuclear Talks Avoided 20% Oil Exports Fall

TEHRAN July 26 (Shana)--Iran’s recent nuclear talks with six world powers have avoided a 20-percent decline in Iran’s crude oil sales, director for international affairs of National Iranian Oil Company said.

“The only positive point with the recent talks was that a 20-percent decline in Iran’s oil selling was prevented,” Mohsen Qamsari said.
He said that short-term deals are like “armistice”, adding that such temporary agreements leave conditions in ambiguity for oil sales “because transportation, banking and insurance issues are long-term challenges.”
Qamsari said recently that Iran is exporting an average of one million bpd of its oil based on the November 2013 interim nuclear deal with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China – plus Germany.
Under the deal, the six countries undertook to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities.
The two sides have agreed on the extension of nuclear talks until November 24 with a view to achieving a permanent accord.
