TEHRAN July 26 (Shana)--NIOC’s subsidiaries should update the list of their contractors authorized to take part in oil industry transactions, deputy minister of petroleum for engineering Seyyed Emad Hossaini has said.

Emad Hossaini told Shana that a number of contractors had been already prohibited from transactions with NIOC’s subsidiaries mainly due to outdated and incorrect data.
According to the official, under a decree issued by Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, NIOC’s subsidiaries have been tasked with revision and updating the list of their authorized contractors to introduce them to the Engineering Directorate within one month.
The decision has been made with the goal of providing the opportunity for eligible companies to take part in the transactions by removing illegal and illogical barriers they have been faced in the past, the official said.
According to Hossaini, Engineering Directorate holds regular meetings with entrepreneurs, manufacturing and oil industry experts, lawmakers familiar with oil industry needs, academicians and media representatives.
He noted that Engineering Directorate tries to close views from private sector and state-owned companies adding the result of the meetings is expected to have a positive and constructive impact on oil industry.
