Fifth Development Well Drilled in Azadegan

TEHRAN August 23 (Shana)--A fifth development well has been drilled in South Azadegan oil field, 17 days ahead of schedule, the project manager said.

Manouchehr Assadi said the well was spudded by Fath 89 drilling rig in oil well number 41 of the field shared with neighboring Iraq.
He said the drilling of 50 wells has been assigned by Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) to National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC), adding that Fath-33 and Fath-81 rigs are already operating there.
He said that two more drilling rigs are being located to start drilling operation soon.  
Assadi said the drilling operations in South Azadegan are on a turnkey basis.
The field is expected to produce 320,000 b/d of oil and 197 mcf/d of gas in the first phase of development.
The field is already producing 50,000 b/d of oil.
