Petchem, Petroleum Trade Hit 90 Trillion Rials

TEHRAN August 25 (Shana)--Managing director of Iran’s Mercantile Exchange Hossain Panahian says 90 trillion rials of petrochemical and oil products were traded in the bourse over the first five months of current Iranian calendar year since March 21 2014.

In statements to Shana, Panahian further noted that the value of total transactions at the mentioned period stood at 240.6 tr0illion rials of which 172 trillion rials were spot and 70.3 trillion rials were traded in the form of future contracts.   
He noted that oil products transactions over the first five months of current year stood at 42 trillion rials in terms of value and 3.133 million tons in terms of weight.
According to the official, total petrochemical products trade stood at 8450 billion rials and 460 thousand tons in terms of value and weight respectively.
Polymer products trade reached 39.000 billion rials over the mentioned period while the value of gases and petrochemical products reached 2.600 billion rials.
7 oil refineries and 30 petrochemical plants besides 35 plants producing bitumen and insulators offer their products in Mercantile Exchange on a regular basis.
Expressing satisfaction with the cooperation between those companies offering their products at Mercantile Exchange, Panahian said Mercantile Exchange was ready to boost cooperation with those involved in production of petrochemical and oil products.
