3 Museums to Display History of Oil

TEHRAN Sep. 10 (Shana)--Petroleum Ministry plans to set up 3 museums in order to display cultural, historical, economic and scientific relics of Iran's oil industry to the public.

Entitled as the Institution of Oil Industry’s Museums and Documents, a nonprofit body affiliated to Iran's Petroleum Ministry will be set up for an unlimited period of time.
The museums will be established in the capital, Tehran, and two southern cities of Abadan and Masjed Soleyman, where the fist oil refinery in the Middle East was built in 1912 and the first huge oil reserves were found in the region in 1908.
While Masjed Soleyman Museum will depict the history of oil in Iran, Ababdan Museum will showcase another aspect of oil industry especially oil refining as well as resistance and self-sufficiency.
Likewise, Tehran Museum will display technological and scientific relics of oil industry as well as subjects like exploration, production and distribution.
