Iran Electricity Exports Up 3.3% YOY

TEHRAN Sept 20 (Shana)--The Islamic Republic of Iran’s export of electricity to the neighboring countries has grown 3.3 percent year-on-year.

Statistics released by Iran's Ministry of Energy show that since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year on 21 March 2014, the Islamic Republic of Iran has managed to export 5.368 gigawatt hours (GWH) of electricity to its neighbors, up 3.3 percent against the same period last year. The volume of electricity exports stood at 5.197 gigawatt hours last year.
Iran trades electricity with its neighbors including Armenia, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Turkey, Republic of Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, Iraq and Afghanistan.
