Visiting Lavan oil refinery, Kazemi said production of oil products compatible with eruo-4 and euro-5 specifications is a national issue that not only the government but the people are demanding its realization.
He said completion of upgrading plans and improving the quality of oil products at oil refineries will pave the way for distribution of euro-4 gasoline at first in mega cities and then in other cities across the country.
“Protecting the environment and reducing air pollution are among the main goals of implementation of upgrading plans at oil refineries”, NIORDC’s chief executive told Shana.
Meanwhile managing director of Lavan Oil Refining Company Mohammad Ali Davar said ongoing upgrading plan at Lavan oil refinery includes two phases adding the first phase came online last year and could raise processing capacity of the refinery from 30 to 65 thousand barrels per day.
According to the official, completion of the second phase will enable the refinery to boost production capacity of regular gasoline to 2.8 million liters, gasoil to 1.7 million liters, premium gasoline to one million liters, LPG to 210 tons and sulfur to 30 tons per day all of them compatible with up to date standards of the world.
