Petroleum Ministry Ready to Set Feedstock Prices for 10 Years

TEHRAN Sept 29 (Shana)--Iran's petroleum ministry is prepared to fix the price of petrochemical feedstock for the next 10 years, said Iranian Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh.

Zanganeh said all petrochemical plants in the country are invited to a meeting with officials from the petroleum ministry to negotiate a final pricing model for petchem feedstock for the next 10 years.
"Petrochemical plants are invited to attend a meeting arranged at the petroleum ministry to reach an agreement regarding feedstock prices for 10 years," said Zanganeh on Monday.
Zanganeh said the ministry is prepared to fix the prices before the end of the current month in Iranian calendar year.
Recently, head of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Abbas Sheri-Moqaddam said pricing is a major hindrance in new investments in the petchem industry and once long-term prices are set fresh private-sector investments will be in order in the petchem industry.
Shri-Moqaddam said the price of feedstock is a concern for investors in the petchem industry because it allows them to decide on the future of their investments.
