Exports Rise at Abadan Petchem

TEHRAN Sept 29 (Shana)--Abadan Petrochemical plant has raised the level of its exports to foreign destinations since the beginning of the current calendar year which started March 2014, an official with the petchem said.

Last year, the plant exported 20% of its output and send the rest to the domestic market, but the balance will be 50-50 this year due to certain strategic and developmental decisions, managing director of Abadan Petrochemical Plant Alireza Sedighi Zadeh said.
He said most of the exported PVC produced by the plant is shipped to destinations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Armenia.
A relatively little amount of the products are also exported to Persian Gulf littoral states as well, he added.
Abadan petrochemical plant produces 110,000 tons of different PVC grades, 30,000 tons of caustic soda and 15,000 tons of Dodecyl Benzene (DDB) a year.
Abadan Petchem is fed by the outputs withdrawn from Abadan Refinery, Arvand Petchem and Banda Emem Petchem.
He further highlighted Iran Plast as a major petrochemical event in the industry where all the country's industrialists gather to present their latest achievements in the field.
The 9th International Exhibition of Plastics, Rubber, Equipment and Machinery (Iran Plast) is running at Tehran's permanent fairgrounds and will wrap up on September 29. The showcase opened on Thursday September 16 in the presence of Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and many other government officials and petrochemical industrialists.
