Iran Wants Quick Signature of Iraq Trade Deal

TEHRAN Oct 22 (Shana)--Iran’s minister of industry, mine and trade has underscored the need for the finalization of Iran-Iraq comprehensive trade memorandum.

“There is ground for further cooperation between the two countries and Iran-Iraq comprehensive trade pact can broaden economic relations between the two countries,” Mohammad-Reza Nematzadeh said in a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Trade Abdulkarim Malas al-Kasnazani.
 
Nematzadeh said joint geological studies and building industrial parks are appropriate grounds for industrial and mining cooperation between Iran and Iraq.
 
He said that Iran-Iraq Trade Memorandum is about banking cooperation, joint ventures and national standards adaptation.
 
For his part, the Iraqi minister expressed hope that the memorandum would be finalized soon.
 
He said that this memorandum, once signed into act, will raise Iran-Iraq trade from the current 6 billion dollars to 30 billion dollars.
