NIDC Drills 100th Well

TEHRAN Nov 18 (Shana)--The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) completed drilling of its 100th well this year on Saturday, managing director of NIDC Heydar Bahmani said.

The well no. 423 was the 100th well the company completed its drilling today in Maroun oil field, Bahmani told Shana.

These wells include 50 developmental-descriptive, one exploratory and 49 make-over wells and were implemented in the areas run by the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), Iran’s Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) and Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (IOEDC).

NIDC has managed to drill 245. 4 thousand meters of oil and gas wells this year and has concentrated its drilling activities in shared oil fields of North and South Azadegan, as well as Azar, Yadavaran and Yaran by deploying 7 drilling rigs.

"Right now 73 drilling rigs are operational in oil and gas fields while 3 new ones will join the fleet before the year-end on March 2015", NIDC’s chief executive noted.

NIDC as a subsidiary of NIOC in upstream sector was established in 1980, one year after the victory of Islamic Revolution, under a decree issued by late Imam Khomeini the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
