Iran to Generate 3,000 MW Power From APG

TEHRAN Nov 18 (Shana)--Iran can generate 3,000 megawatts of electricity from associated petroleum gases, a deputy head of National Iranian Oil Company said.

Ali Kardor, who is NIOC deputy chief for investment, said flare gases should be gathered and sold for the generation of electricity.

He said that NIOC plans to convert flare gases to natural gas liquid (NGL).

The official said gathering flare gases will prevent them from being burnt to damage the environment.

He said that 3,000 MW of electricity costs $1.5 billion.
