Mehdi Sharifi Niknafs said Iran and Indonesia are currently exchanging views about investment in urea and ammoniac projects.
“This country plans to raise the volume of crude oil processing at its refineries by 1mb to 3 mb and therefore it seems that it would be a buyer of crude oil from Iran in the future,” he said.
Niknafs said Iran also intends to be present in Indonesia’s petrochemical market.
He said Indonesia’s Pusri is expected to have a 50% share Iran's Hangam Petrochemical Plant which is expected to produce 1,150 tons a year of petrochemicals in Pars Special Economic Energy Zone.
Niknafs said the petrochemical plant is expected to become operational in four years.
