Power Plants Construction Starts

TEHRAN Dec 03 (Shana)--Construction of two power plants has started in the Persian Gulf Mineral and Metallic Industries Special Zone.

The projects, with a total capacity of 735 MW, started in the presence of Mohammad-Reza Nematzadeh, minister of industry, mine and trade.

One of the projects is a 235-MW power plant which will be constructed with the participation of two German contractors for 75 million euros plus IRR 180 billion.

The gas unit of the power plant is expected to become operational in March 2016 and its steam unit a year later.

Another power plant is a 332-MW facility which would cost 250 million euros plus IRR 1.55 trillion.
