NISOC Manufactures 2,200 Commodities

TEHRAN Dec 07 (Shana)--The National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) has successfully indigenized 2,200 items widely used in the country's petroleum industry, said NISOC chief.

Speaking at an exhibition of petroleum commodities in the south western Khuzestan province, Bijan Alipour said construction of the items by the private sector has saved the country more than IRR 900 billion since the beginning of the current calendar year to March 21.

He said two thirds of the items were designed and manufactured by petroleum industrialists in Khuzestan province.

Iran has spent huge costs on the design and development of sophisticated machinery and equipment.

The exhibition run with nearly 250 exhibitors from across the country will run through December 9.
