TEHRAN Dec 10 (Shana)--Early production from South Azadegan oil field is expected to reach 80,000 b/d, managing-director of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Abdorreza Haji-Hosseinnejad said.

He said that a tender bid is being offered for this purpose, adding that production from South Azadegan is planned to be enhanced from the current 50,000 b/d to 80,000 b/d by March 2016.

The official said that the field is expected to be producing 320,000 b/d by March 2017.

He said the field would produce 600,000 b/d of oil once it undergoes a second phase of development.

China’s CNPCI was initially in charge of South Azadegan, but Iran cancelled its contract after the Chinese company failed to fulfill its obligations.
