South Pars Annual Revenues at $56b

TEHRAN Dec 21 (Shana)--Revenues from the giant offshore South Pars gas field reach $56 billion, managing-director of South Pars Gas Complex said.

Masoud Hassani said the revenues are made from the production of 270 mcm/d of gas, 400,000 b/d of gas condensate, 8,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas, 1,000 tons of sulfur and 5,200 tons of ethane.

He said the figure would reach $167 billion by March 2018 when the number of refineries would have reached 14.

Hassani said gas production from this complex would soar to 430 mcm/d and to 750 mcm/d by March 2018.

He also said that 31.586 bcm of natural gas was produced in the first half of the last calendar year which ended in March, up 18% year-on-year.

Hassani said South Pars Gas Complex is currently contributing 50% of Iran’s gas needs, adding that the contribution would reach 70% by March 2018.
