Iran Won’t Forget Oil Conspiracy

TEHRAN Dec 22 (Shana)--Iran’s parliamentary speaker has said that the Islamic Republic will not forget “oil price conspiracy” by certain countries.

“We have different methods and scenarios to run the country under different circumstances and we will not forget which countries are conspiring to reduce oil prices,” Ali Larijani said during a visit to Syria.

He said that the same countries conspired against Iran in the 1980s when Iran was at war with Iraq.

“It would be a mistake if they (certain governments) imagine that they can change the strategic and important issues of the [Middle East] region through oil [price] issue,” said Larijani.

Last week, Iran’s Petroleum Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh said that the continuing oil price slide constitutes a political plot.

“The prolongation of the downward trend of oil price in world markets is a political conspiracy going to extremes,” the minister said.
