Hassan Montazer Torbati said Iran delivered 90 mcm/d of gas to power plants during the Iranian month this year.
He said that Iran has increased natural gas supply to power plants in a bid to cut consumption of petroleum products.
During the first 260 days of the current calendar year which started on March 21, 39.525 bcm of gas was supplied to power plants.
Gas consumption increases in Iran every year with the arrival of cold season.
