NIGC Needs $62.5b for Projects

TEHRAN Dec 29 (Shana)--National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) would need $62.5 billion in investment to be able to supply 330 bcm of gas a year by March 2018, NIGC chief said.

Hamid-Reza Araqi said the number of gas refineries should increase from 13 to 19, the number of gas pressure booster stations from 71 to 90 and the gas transmission lines should be extended to 40,000 kilometers.  

He said that natural gas supplies 75% of Iran’s energy needs, adding that 84% of Iran’s population has access to natural gas.
