Austrians to Convert Waste Into Electricity

TEHRAN Jan 03 (Shana)--A group of Austrian investors have travelled to Iran to follow up on planning for converting waste into electricity.

The investors travelled to the northern province of Mazandaran on Saturday to visit waste centers.

Ahmad Mozaffari, public relations manager of Mazandaran province, said the investors are to visit activities related to waste treatment in different cities of the province during their three-day stay.

Waste-to-energy or energy-from-waste is the process of generating energy in the form of electricity and/or heat from the incineration of waste.

WtE is a form of energy recovery. Most WtE processes produce electricity and/or heat directly through combustion, or produce a combustible fuel commodity, such as methane, methanol, ethanol or synthetic fuels.
