Iran Needs 12% Economic Growth

TEHRAN Jan 06 (Shana)--Iran’s first vice-president has said that the country needs a 12-percent economic growth rate in order to realize its objectives enshrined in the 2025 Vision Plan.

“In order to reach the objectives of this vision plan, we need a 12-percent economic growth,” Es’haq Jahangiri said.

He said that Iran’s economic growth stood at 2.4% during the first ten years of the 20-year perspective plan.

Jahangiri said international sanctions as well as incorrect economic policies have been the major causes of economic downturn in Iran in recent years.

He said that oil price fall has to be studied meticulously by Iranian economists, adding that the government has already taken the necessary measures to deal with the consequences of falling prices.
