Yaran Output to Reach 15,000 b/d

TEHRAN Jan 06 (Shana)--Production from North Yaran oil field is expected to increase from the current 5,000 b/d to 12,000 or 15,000 b/d by July, an official at Petroleum Engineering and Development Company said.

“Upon the agreement of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), oil production from North Yaran will increase from the current 5,000 b/d to 12,000 to 15,000 b/d” by next July, Arash Baqerzadeh said.

He said that Iran plans to produce 30,000 b/d from the field it shares with neighboring Iraq.

Baqerzadeh said North Yaran’s output is predicted to reach 30,000 b/d by March 2016.

He said four drilling rigs are currently operating in this field.

Iraq is recovering around 260,000 b/d of oil from its own sector of the field.
