North Azadegan Output to Hit 75,000 b/d in 6 Months

TEHRAN Jan 11(Shana)--Production from North Azadegan oil field is expected to reach 75,000 b/d in six months, the contractor of the project said.

“The first [development] phase of this field for the production of 75,000 b/d is to become operational in six months,” Keramat Behbahani said.

He said Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) is conducting studies for the second phase development of the field.

Behbahani said the Chinese company developing the field has accelerated its work after receiving a warning from Iran's Petroleum Ministry to improve its work.

He said the Chinese contractor can also operate the second phase of the project unless it decides to pull out.
