Economy Unfazed by Oil Plunge

TEHRAN Jan 23(Shana)--Iran’s first vice-president has said that falling crude oil prices will not impact the country’s economic prosperity.

Es’haq Jahangiri also said that the recent sharp fall in oil prices would affect the government’s budget and its revenues.

He said that some economic achievements of the government are impacted by the decline in Iran’s petrodollars.

Jahangiri said the government will make efforts to redress the economy as it managed to slash inflation from 40% to 17%.

He said that the government has caused a 4% economic growth rate while two years ago the economy was shrinking.
