Kish Field Delivering Gas Next Winter

TEHRAN Jan 24(Shana)--Managing director of Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Abdolreza Haji Hosainnejad said development of Kish gas field is expected to reach a point where its gas could be injected into the national gas trunkline next winter.

Speaking to Shana, Hosainnejad said the gas field is expected to produce one billion cubic feet of gas and 11.300 barrels of gas condensate per day in the first phase.

Referring to repeated delays in development of the gas field during the ruling of former administration, PEDEC’s managing director said: "Up to now, 13 wells have been drilled in the gas field, but gas transfer and holding a tender for laying pipeline in offshore is yet to be done.

Located in Kish island in the Persian Gulf, the field's in-place gas reserves are estimated at 38.3 tcf and its gas condensate reserves at 398 million barrels.

Development plan of Kish gas field comprises three phases.

Drilling has been resumed in the gas field with the aim of completion of the first phase and injection of its gas to the national gas trunklines for domestic consumption.
