Director of Gas Transfer District 3 Houshang Mehrdadfar made the remarks in an interview with Shana, adding gas injection to Sarajeh gas storage facility has reached 1.24 bcm so far this year, up by 35 percent against similar period last year.
He further noted that gas delivery to Sarajeh facility was suspended in the middle of November 2014 due to cold weather and instead gas withdrawal was started. He continued average gas withdrawal from the facility stands at 4mcm a day.
Serajeh gas facility is able to process 10 mcm/d of gas in two phases but the volume of gas withdrawal from the facility depends on the decisions made by dispatching center of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).
Gas withdrawal from Serajeh facility hit more than 662 mcm last Iranian year to March 20 2014.
Located 40 km southwest of Qom city, the facility is capable of storing 1.5 bcm in the first phase and 3.3 bcm in the second phase.
