Star Refinery Coming Online Late Next Year

TEHRAN Jan 27(Shana)--The first phase of Persian Gulf Star refinery is expected to come online later next Iranian calendar year, the first quarter of 2016.

Director of integrated planning at the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Shahabodding Metaji said the company stepped up building the refinery through choosing capable managers and contractors for advancement of the project.

In order prevent unforeseen problems in the pre-startup designing of the project, we have selected not only an experienced exploitation manager but a contractor for supervision on launching the project.

He said the contractor is tasked with deploying appropriate software and experienced forces to follow directions, conducting inspection and accurate monitoring to guarantee a successful startup.

According to him, these initiatives have paved the ground for stepping up installation of equipment and have raised hope for launching the first phase on schedule in February 2016.

Completion of Persian Gulf Star refinery project will enable the country to raise daily gasoline and gasoil production capacity by 36 and 14 million liters respectively.

Daily production of 4 million liters of LPG, 3 million liters of jet fuel and 130 tons of sulfur are the other targets of development plan of Persian Gulf Star refinery.
