Green Belt around Abadan Petrochemical Complex

TEHRAN Jan 31(Shana)--Construction of a green belt has been started around Abadan Petrochemical Complex on the occasion of Clean Air Week, director of HSE division at Abadan petrochemical complex Mirhosain Farjadnia said.

He further noted that the green belt covers 20 hectares of land of the complex, stating more than 5 thousand trees have been planted in the area which will rise to 10 thousand at the end of next Iranian year to March 2017.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Farjadnia said these lands will be irrigated by recovery of industrial waste-water from the complex.

As much as 9 billion IR rials will be spent in laying pipelines of the project and construction of an access road for irrigation, he noted.

Abadan petrochemical complex is one of the top producers of PVC in the country.
