Marzieh Shah-Daei said the location is due to the fact that petrochemical plants consume large volumes of water.
“Petrochemical industry is water and energy-intensive. That is why many petrochemical units are currently facing water shortage and exports,” she said.
Shah-Daei said low precipitation in Iran poses a serious challenge to petrochemical industry development.
