Bandar Abbas Refinery Pursues Productivity

TEHRAN Feb 23(Shana)--Bandar Abbas oil refinery has pursued raising productivity, value-added and profitability as top priorities this year having taken major steps to realize the targets.

Managing director of Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery Hashem Namvar made the remarks, adding upgrading oil refining operations and improving the pattern of production of oil products have been the most important initiatives of the refinery in production sector.

He further noted that production of higher volume of light oil products with higher value-added is the other achievement of the refinery this year which comes to an end on March 21 2015.

Setting up new facilities for loading and selling oil products and construction of an exclusive road for tankers are the other achievements of the oil refinery, he said.    

Last month Bandar Abbas oil refinery ranked first during the 17th edition of introducing the 100 superior companies of the countries in view of economic performance.

Financial performance of the 100 superior companies of the country showed that Bandar Abbas oil refinery with 420 trillion IR rials ranked first in view of sale.

Bandar Abbas oil refinery with processing capacity of 350 barrels of crude oil and gas condensate per day is the third largest oil refinery in the country. The refinery accounts for production of 18 percent to oil products including gasoline, LPG, kerosene, jet fuel, heavy naphtha, fuel oil and sulfur.
