In statements to Shana, director of gas supply department at NIGC Naser Ebrahimi said the company has managed to supply 140 mcm of gas per day on average to power plants so far this year, up against similar period last year with 100 mcm on average.
Ebrahimi further noted that replacing liquid fuel with gas has enabled the country not only to save considerable amount of liquid fuel but also to contribute to curbing air pollution.
According to him, the volume of gas delivery to large industries reached 30 bcm during the first 11 months of current year, up by 3 bcm against similar period last year. Daily gas delivery to large industries averaged 89 mcm during the period.
The volume of gas delivery to household, commercial and small industries hit 80.5 bcm, a very little change despite supplying gas to around one million new subscribers. Gas delivery to these sectors stood at 79.9 bcm during similar period last year.
