Energy Diplomacy Document Complete

TEHRAN March 02(Shana)--Head of the Institute for International Energy Studies (IIES) Seyyed Hossain Iranmanesh has said that the institute has completed its studies on Energy Diplomacy having sent the document to related authorities.

He said IIES has sent the document to Planning and International Departments of Petroleum Ministry as well as Foreign Ministry where the document should be finalized by related committees.

He expressed hope the document does not encounter the same problems that happened for Energy Document of the country which he said has not been ratified yet by Parliament due to lack of consensus.

Iranmanesh continued that delays in approving the document have created some problems for management and implementation of oil industry projects as well as wasting energy in the country.

He referred to inadequate research resources as one of the main challenges of the institute expressing regret that research has never been a priority.

“Whenever we face inadequate financial resources, the research expenses are the first item being omitted from budgets which although does not reflect its negative impact immediately but inflicts huge losses in the long run” head of IIES said.

Elsewhere in his remarks he said IIES was also involved in preparing some environmental projects in close cooperation with Petroleum Ministry’s HSE Department.

According to him, Iran like any other country should prepare a report on greenhouse gases after 2020 and present it to UN noting IIES is closely cooperating with Petroleum Ministry’s HSE department on the subject.
