7 Projects Underway by IOPTC

TEHRAN March 02(Shana)--Iran Oil Pipeline and Telecommunication Company (IOPTC) is involved in implementation of 7 projects including changing corroded pipelines and replacing small diameter pipelines with wider ones, building storage tanks and setting up geographic information systems (GIS) at a cost of approximately 400 billion IR rials.

Director of engineering and projects at IOPTC Seyyed Abolghasem Mosavi made the remarks, adding increasing the diameter of Veresk-Sari pipeline in the northern province of Mazandaran is another project which will raise the capacity of oil products transfer by more than double.

IOPTC official said the company has approved a plan for replacing part of current 12- inch pipeline with a 16- inch pipeline which will raise the capacity of oil products transfer from the 110 km pipeline from current level of 50tousand to 120 thousand barrels per day.

As one of the subsidiary companies of National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), IOPTC is responsible for receiving crude oil from production fields or terminals and transporting it to refineries, receiving oil by-products from refineries and import terminals, and moving them to the storage tanks of NIORDC throughout the country. The operation is carried out through 14,000 km of pipelines, 175 Pump Stations, Installations, Pressure Reducing stations and 215 Telecommunication Stations.
