NISOC Boosts Oil Output

TEHRAN March 17(Shana)--Oil production capacity in the area running by the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) rose by 25 thousand barrels per day over the outgoing Iranian calendar year which comes to a close on March 20.

Technical manager at NISOC Hamid Daris made the remarks in a press conference, adding this year the company has succeeded in realizing its production targets by 100 percent.  

"The company not only could make up for natural declining of oil production from the wells covered by the company but managed to raise oil production at the final days of current year", he said.

According to him, oil production has risen from 2.939 million barrels at the beginning of this year to 2.965 million barrels at the end of current year.

Dris said that the company plans to raise oil production to as much as 3 million barrels per day next year.
