Jet Fuel Delivery Up By 8 Percent

TEHRAN April 08(Shana)--More than 1.5 billion liters of jet fuel were delivered to airlines over the past Iranian calendar year that ended on 20th March 2015, head of fuel department at Iran’s civil aviation Ali Harandi said.

The amount of fuel delivery to airliners stood at 1.526 billion liters last year with 203,848 cases of fueling, up by 8 percent against a year earlier.

According to Harandi, eight airports including Imam Khomeini, Mehrabad, Mashhad, Kish, Esfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz and Ahvaz were the top airports in view of fueling and the number of flights with 85 percent of operations.

The highest amount of daily fuel delivery took place during the closing day of last Iranian calendar year on March 20, he noted.  

Meanwhile during the 15-day vacations of New Year, fuel delivery and the number of flights rose respectively by 6 and 4.2 percent against corresponding period last year.
