Public relations department of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) quoted Bahamaei as saying rising gas production has facilitated development of petrochemical sector.
“Rising gas production by 100 mcm/d last year and new targets pertaining to boosting gas production capacity this year has prepared the ground for implementation a comprehensive plan for development of petrochemical industry so that natural gas be converted into more valuable products”, the MP said.
He continued that the advantages of developing petrochemical sector are not limited to economic benefits but it includes creating job opportunities as well.
Bahmaei stressed on sustainable development of petrochemical sector so that it entails chain of value, leading to production of higher value-added products and makes selling row materials unnecessary.
