New U.S Initiative Brings Nothing New, Larijani

TEHRAN April 19(Shana)--The Islamic Republic of Iran will monitor new developments in the U.S regarding nuclear talks and will continue negotiations according to the emerging circumstances.

Addressing a public session of Majlis (Parliament) on Sunday, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani made the remarks in reaction to a move by the U.S Senate foreign relations committee on Tuesday which gave the green light to a bill that would give Congress the right to review a possible final agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue.

Larijani’s remarks came as the white house relented on Tuesday and said President Obama would sign a compromise bill giving Congress a voice on the proposed nuclear accord with Iran.

Larijani said that various analyses have been emerged regarding [new White House stance] toward nuclear deal with Iran, in which some believe the initiative is a kind of cheating, some evaluate it as a sign of weakness of the U.S president while the others see it as a new course for spoiling earlier understandings.

According to him, the new U.S approach will bring them nothing new and the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue negotiations while taking into account new developments.

He noted that the U.S is expected to provide more transparent assurances if the negotiations are going to bear fruit, adding, "Now it seems they plan to spoil the negotiations."

He said, "It is unlikely that deploying the new means could enhance their bargaining power during the negotiations."

He said the U.S should accept stricter and different conditions in order to ensure striking a nuclear deal. Larijani went on to say that Iranian negotiators should manage the negotiations course and take into account accurate scenarios, concluding Iran will wait for a final decision to be made by the opposite side.
