Iran Wants OPEC to Let It In

TEHRAN April 20(Shana)--Iran expects the OPEC to create enough space for its planned production enhancement after sanctions are lifted, Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said.

“The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is expected to create the necessary space for an increase in Iran’s oil supply on world markets,” Zangeneh said in a meeting with Venezuela foreign and oil ministers in Tehran on Monday.

“Iran wants the return of its crude oil exports share to the pre-sanctions level,” he said.

Venezuelan oil and foreign ministers presented a report about the activities of Venezuela with regard to shoring up oil prices in world markets and encouraging cooperation between OPEC and non-OPEC oil producers.

Zangeneh also stressed the need for joint action to bring stability back to the oil market and to prevent political intensions from influencing the market.
