Iran Plans 11,000MW Renewable Energy

TEHRAN April 26(Shana)--Iran plans to generate around 11,000 megawatts of renewable energy, a deputy minister of energy said.

“Energy Ministry’s forecasts envisage around 11,000 megawatts of renewable energy,” Houshang Falahatian said.

He said that the Renewable Energies Organization of Iran has been active in this sector over the past three decades.

“Development of renewable energies is very difficult because of the low price of energy commodities,” he added.

Falahatian said Iran should envisage a share for renewable energies in its energy mix.
