Energy Sector Exports $2.57b of Technical, Engineering Services

TEHRAN April 27(Shana)--Energy sector exported as much as 2.57 billion dollars of technical and engineering services during the past Iranian calendar year to March 20 2015, head of Utility Support and Promotion Exports Center, Homayoon Haeri, said.

He further noted that technical and engineering services were one of the main non-oil exports items of the country which [the value] of its exports has been on the rise due to government support and private sector efforts.

According to him, water and electricity sector has been pioneer among different sectors including road, construction, telecommunications, oil, gas and petrochemicals in view of exports of technical and engineering services.

He said, during last year, exports of technical and engineering services of road, construction, telecommunications and oil industry stood respectively at 316.5, 17.6, 7.2 and 5.08 million dollars.  

Exports of technical and engineering services by utility accounted for 88.12 percent of total exports of technical and engineering services which stood at 2.915 billion dollars last year; he said concluding energy sector made 20 projects operational abroad last year.
