IOPTC Modernizes Oil Industry Telecommunications System

TEHRAN April 28(Shana)--Oil industry owns the latest telecommunications technology named IP Base system.

Director of telecommunications division at Iran’s Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company (IOPTC) Mohammadali Pishahang has said by launching the system oil industry staff will be able to contact each other by using a 5 digit dialing system without entering special codes for different cities, facilitating communications whenever it’s necessary.  

According to him, the company has started modernization of telecommunications network since 8 years ago in two phases.

Pishahang said 90 percent of the project is complete and the remainder will be over in a 10-month period.

The company has modernized all the telecommunications equipment including batteries, PLC, towers and antennas, and has replaced analog systems with digital ones, he concluded.
