New Projects Kick Off In Fars

TEHRAN May 05(Shana)--Iranian president Hassan Rouhani inaugurated two large projects via video conference and ordered implementation of 5 more large projects, during his last week’s visit to Fars province,

These projects will be implemented with 4.5 billion dollars plus 15 million euro foreign exchange investment and 1.293 trillion rials local currency. The projects will also create jobs for 3345 people directly.

The projects are as follow:

Parsian ethane project
Parsain ethane production project will provide feedstock for Firouzabad, Jahrom, Darab, Fasa and Estahban petrochemical plants.

Aluminum complex project

Aluminum complex project will be built in Lamerd Especial Economic Zone and will produce 300 thousand tons of aluminum annually in the first phase.

Development plan of Shiraz oil refinery

Development plan of Shiraz oil refinery with refining capacity of 120 thousand barrels of gas condensate aims at taking gas condensate from South Pars gas field and convert it to LPG, gasoline and gasoil compatible with European standards.

A Chinese company will provide 85 percent of financial needs of the refinery which is estimated to need 1.8 billion dollars for completion.   

A gas to liquid (GTL) project
The project will take one million cubic meters of gas per day to produce 3.000 barrels of oil products.

Ghadir combined cycle power plant

The one-thousand-megawatt power plant will provide electricity needs of aluminum industries in the province. Located in Lamard city, the power plant will be built with 500 million dollar in investment.

Gas and steam units of the power plant are scheduled to come online in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
