Iran, Algeria to Broaden Economic Ties

TEHRAN May 05(Shana)--Iran and Algeria have agreed to expand economic cooperation, the head of Iran Chamber of Commerce said.

“Algeria can provide access to Africa and even Europe market. In addition to bilateral economic activities, trilateral and multilateral cooperation should top the agenda for broader economic cooperation,” Gholam-Hossein Shafei told Iran-Algeria business seminar.

He said that the Iranian and Algerian chambers of commerce are tasked with encouraging private sectors in both countries to boost trade and operate joint venture projects.

Shafei said the private sector in Iran and Algeria are not well aware of each other’s potentialities.

He also said that the two countries can cooperate in oil, gas and petrochemical sectors, technology, infrastructure, construction of roads and airports as well as technical and services.
