SUNA Welcomes Investment in Renewables

TEHRAN May 07(Shana)--Managing director of Renewable Energy Organization of Iran (SUNA) Mohammad Sadeghzadeh says the organization guarantees purchasing the electricity foreign investors will generate from renewable energies.

Speaking at a specialized meeting with environment officials from Germany and GIZ institute, Sadeghzadeh said deploying renewable energies is the only way to protect the environment, adding technological achievements have slashed the cost of protection of environment.

SUNA’s chief noted that Germany is a vanguard of using renewable energies and ranks first in view of installation of solar panels.

Underlining the importance of renewable energies research, Sadeghzadeh said : "Our country has paid attention to the importance of renewable energies in recent years so that there are more than 100 academic and research centers in the country dealing directly with renewable energies."

We have had breakthroughs in research on renewable energies, he said, concluding Iran and Germany are closely cooperating in renewable energies.
