Gas Price Main Issue in Talks: NIGEC Chief

TEHRAN May 13(Shana)--Head of National Iranian Gas Exports Company (NIGEC) said pricing of the exported gas is the chief point discussed in talks between Iran and its customers, adding that other issues can be solved easily if pricing formulae are agreed upon.

Alireza Kameli said the NIGEC is in talks with several countries for the export of Iran's natural gas and some agreements have so far been reached.

"Once agreements are reached over pricing of the commodity, the most important issue in the talks is resolved and the other issues will be easily agreed upon," said the NIGEC chief.

Normally, pricing is the most issue in all agreements especially when it comes to natural gas exports, Kameli said.

Iran's natural gas reserves are estimated to hold 33.7 trillion cubic meters of natural gas in place.
