“After the removal of the sanctions, the Asia market will still be the priority. Efforts will be also made to pay attention to traditional customers in Europe,” Rokneddin Javadi, deputy minister of petroleum, said.
Javadi, who is also the managing-director of National Iranian Oil Company, said China, Japan, South Korea and India have remained buyers of Iran’s oil despite “unjust” sanctions slapped on the country.
“Before the sanctions were imposed, Asian countries were the leading consumers of Iran’s oil,” he said.
Javadi also said that Iran is planning to raise its oil production from the current 3 mb/d to 4 mb/d.
He said that Iran will able to “regain its position in the Asian market” after the sanctions are annulled.
