Iran Pursues Singapore Ship Affair

TEHRAN May 20(Shana)--Iranian ministries of petroleum and foreign affairs are following up on the case of a Singapore-flagged ship which has reportedly damaged an Iranian oil platform.

“In collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum, we are following up on the accident of the Singaporean-flagged ship with the jacket of Phase 13 of South Pars [gas field],” Iranian foreign ministry spokeswoman, Marzieh Afkham, said.

The Alpine Eternity is operated by Norway's Transpetrol TM AS had hit the platform on March 22.

“We are gathering necessary information and following up on them with Ministry of Petroleum with regard to the Singaporean vessel’s collision with the jacket of Phase 13 of South Pars, which caused extensive damage,” Afkham said.

“The available information must be scrutinized with expertise and therefore the accident is still under investigation. It must become clear in which region this ship was fired,” she said.
